March To "Stop Violence Against Women" this Friday in Yerevan
The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Woman has issued a statement expressing its concern over the November 14 incident at the Marriott Hotel in Yerevan, during which Syunik Regional Governor Suren Khachatryan is alleged to have physically assaulted businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan.
In this regard the Coalition states that every act of violence is to be condemned and thus calls on the public to remain on guard and demand that all such acts be tried in a court of law.
The Coalition states that the November 14 incident is even more deplorable since it involved such a high-ranking government official.
The Coalition also announced that a march to stop violence against woman will take place this Friday, November 25, starting on Teryan Street at 1pm.
