Yerevan to Elect New Mayor on November 15

Today, the Yerevan Municipal Council scheduled elections for a new mayor on November 15.

Recently, Karen Karapetyan tendered his resignation as mayor. Rumors state that he will be heading for a high paying job in Moscow.

The buzz around town is that Acting Mayor Taron Margaryan, a close ally of President Sargsyan, will get the “nod” for the job.
