According to the preliminary 2010 budget, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications is earmarked 34 billion AMD, 12% less than this year. During a press conference that wrapped up minutes ago, Minister of T&C, Gurgen Sargsyan, brushed aside any doubts that his department would be seriously affected by the cuts.
"We plan to repair 63
kilometers of road with the money budgeted us and 430 million will go to renovating eight bridges in the country," Minister Sargsyan boasted.
He added that the rural roads repair project funded by the Asian Development Bank would continue apace in 2010.
