On the Road to Araxavan
The other day a group of us photographers visited Araxavan, a village of some 800 souls in Ararat Province a mere 17 kilometers south of Yerevan.
When we entered the village one of the kids spotted our camera and promised take us to where the best snowdrop flowers grow.
He got in our little Opel and was soon joined by other children who claimed they knew where the most beautiful snowdrops grew. Our car now resembled a packed bus.
It quickly became apparent that none of the kids knew if the flower even grows in their village.
But that’s beside the point. It was a wonderful trip, snowdrops or not.
