Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan has promised to upgrade Northern Boulevard, a central pedestrian artery in Yerevan, with more green space and improved lighting.

Many Yerevan residents and tourists complain that the thoroughfare more resembles a concrete valley than a pleasant pedestrian walkway.

There is little in the way of plants and shrubs, lightning is poor and sections of the tile walkway are buckling and coming apart.
