Ruben Rubinyan was today elected First Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly.

Seventy of the new parliament’s 107 MPs voted in favor of Rubinyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract party’s Board of Governors.

Rubinyan was the chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations in the previous parliament. He was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister after the 2018 change in government.
