
Victory Park War Commemoration
Government and church leaders were out in full force today at Victory Park to pay commemorate the 66th anniversary of the end of WWII and the 19th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi.
Those in attendance include National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Yerevan Mayor Karen Karapetyan, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, members of parliament and other government figures.
They placed wreaths at the eternal flame and observed a minute of silence to commemorate those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in both those wars.
The parliament president, prime minister and mayor then joined veterans at the now traditional open-air banquet table for a toast and to break bread.
