
Plaintiff Calls Petrosyan's Lawyer "Riff-Raff"
After his defense lawyers made counter arguments, the ongoing trial of performance actor Vardan Petrosyan was postponed today until January 26.
The reason – the work day came to a close.
The court room was full and spectators who had to take turns sitting down.
Defense attorney Nikolai Baghdasaryan attacked an issue raised by the prosecution alleging that the scene of the deadly automobile accident was in fact within the boundaries of a local municipality and thus had speed limits.
Petrosyan’s French lawyers were also present at today’s trial session. Petrosyan also addressed the court.
A tense atmosphere reigned and the two opposing sides traded barbs. At the end of the session Artour Hakobyan, one of the plaintiffs, called Nikolai Baghdarsyan a piece of riff-raff.
Baghdasaryan made a motion for criminal charges to be launched against Hakobyan.
