Temporary Parliamentary Committee on Troubled Nairit Plant Delayed Up to a Year
On November 7, the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Economic Affairs delayed by up to one year any discussion regarding the financially troubled Yerevan Nairit Rubber Plant.
At today’s parliament session, ARF MP Artzvik Minasyan announced that it had been decided to create a subcommittee to look into the possible reopening of the plant and that it would take up to a year for them to draft a plan of action.
Last February, the parliament rejected a bill introduced by the ARF that would have set up a temporary committee to look into the privatization and inadequate operation of the former Soviet rubber producing giant.
