Prime Minister Shows Up Unannounced at Non-Coalition Meeting
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan today showed up unannounced at a closed door meeting being held by the four non-coalition parliamentary parties.
The meeting was being held at the parliamentary offices of the Prosperous Armenia party.
Abrahamyan was accompanied by Government Chief of Staff Davit Harutyunyan and Republican Party parliamentary faction head Gakust Sahakyan.
After greeting the MPs at the meeting, Abrahamyan approached Armenian National Congress (HAK) parliamentary faction head Levon Zurabyan and said “What you’re doing isn’t right.”
It’s assumed that Abrahamyan was referring to the fact that HAK refused the invitation the prime minister had made for consultations on the pension system issue.
In response, Zurabyan joked, “Have you come to glean information from us?”
Abrahamyan said he had come to provide information, most probably regarding the new pension system bill the government is drafting.
