“I don’t agree that there is no political will. It exists and gets tougher with each passing day. But it is directed against the interests of the people. How else can one explain all the negative things happening?” This was the assessment of Heritage Party MP Larisa Alaverdyan at a press conference today.
She noted the response made by Finance Minister Tigran Davtyan when asked why the proposals of the Heritage Party were mostly rejected. “He replied that ‘why should we accept them if you, all the same, will vote against them’. This is an unprecedented display and means that there is an attitude of refusal when it comes to the Heritage Party. This doesn’t bring honor to the authorities,” MP Alaverdyan argued.
The MP claimed that the party had met with 4,000 citizens this year and had taken their complaints to the appropriate government bodies for review. She said that half of all petitions were satisfactorily resolved.
“You’ll always find one employee in any given government department or agency that’s will to help and resolve a citizen complaint. But this doesn’t mean that we are cooperating with the authorities or the governing bodies. That’s out of the question,” she added.
