Separate Smoking Areas in 168 Cafes and Restaurants

The process of creating separate smoking and non-smoking areas in cafes and restaurants, based on the law on "limitations on the sale, consumption and use of tobacco" is ongoing in all of the city's districts is in progress, through a special directive by the mayor of Yerevan.

Based on the information provided by the authorities of Yerevan's districts, all cafes and restaurants in Davtashen, Nork Marash and Nubarashen have separate areas for smokers and non-smokers.

In Malatia-Sebastia, smoking is prohibited completely in 7 of 17 such enterprises, while there are separates areas in the remaining 10.

In all, 168 cafes and restaurants in the capital have separate smoking and non-smoking areas.

Smokers beware,this is the beginning of the end of smoking in public areas. Smokers not only damage their health and wealth but also infringe on the rights of non-smokers to breath clean(er) air. A former smoker
