Yerevan Mayor Karen headed an Armenian delegation to Beijing from July 26-30 at the invitation of Mayor Guo Jinlong.

While in the Chinese capital, Mayor Karapetyan stressed his willingness to deepen ties between the two cities and presented a number of investment proposals to his Chinese counterpart. He also suggested that a delegation of Chinese businessmen visit Yerevan.

In response, Mayor Jinlong said Beijing was ready to assist in deepening collaborative ties with Yerevan in whatever manner possible and accepted an invitation to visit Yerevan.

Mayor Karapetyan's delegation visited a major bus factory and discussed credit options that would allow for the export of some 400 new buses to Yerevan.

At the conclusion of talks, the two mayors signed a memorandum of cooperation.
