
Electricity Rates to Rise by 27%
Garegin Baghramyan, who heads the Rates Policy Unit of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, today announced that electricity prices would rise some 27% (7-8 AMD per 1 kilowatt hour), adding that he couldn’t say when the rise would take effect.
Current electricity rates are 30 AMD during the day and 20 AMD at night.
Baghramyan announced that public hearings on the proposed increases would take place in the coming days.
