The campaign headquarters of Taron Apresyan, a candidate in the upcoming Vanadzor mayoral race, has requested that the Central Electoral Commission review its decision to appoint Tigran Papanyan as the president of the local election district board.

Apresyan argues that Papanyan, who is married to the sister of current Vanadzor Mayor Samvel Darbinyan, may be less than impartial in the post.

Darbinyan is running for re-election as mayor for the northern Armenian town.
