Moscow Says Armenia Is Strategic Partner
Moscow has no plans to lower the level of diplomatic relations with Armenia despite ongoing questions regarding their strategic alliance.
Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Galuzin told the Russian RIA Novosti news agency that the recent recall of Russia’s ambassador in Yerevan to Moscow was for “consultations” only and that Sergey Kopirkin is expected to return to Armenia.
"The ambassador was called for consultations. He was not called back. Russia and Armenia are allies, strategic partners," the Russian official said.
