Thousands gathered in Yerevan’s Liberty Square today to mark the thirty-second anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Artsakh.

On September 2, 1991, a joint session of the Councils of People's Deputies of the Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Oblast and the Shahumyan region proclaimed the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh (later Republic of Artsakh).

Those in attendance included former Armenian presidents Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan and former prime minister Vazgen Manukyan.
