
Rescue Workers Halt Search at Yerevan Market Blast Site
Rescue workers have stopped looking for victims amidst the ruins of Yerevan’s Surmalu Market that killed sixteen according to official sources.
Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Spokesperson Hayk Kostanyan announced the news on a Facebook post after workers failed to find the remains of one person still reported missing.
An explosion, allegedly at a fireworks depot, ripped through the market on August 14.
The blast injured dozens at the popular market in the Armenian capital.
An investigation has yet to specify what exploded and how.
