Armenian Foreign Minister, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Discuss Humanitarian Issues in Artsakh
Today, on the sidelines of the high-level session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and discussed several humanitarian issues in Artsakh following the 2020 war.
Mirzoyan, according to a statement released by his office, noted that as a country directly affected by forcible deportations, Armenia has always supported the efforts of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to protect the rights of victims of forcible displacement.
Mirzoyan drew his colleague's attention to the need to create conditions for the return, repatriation and protection of the rights of the Artsakh Armenians forcibly displaced from their homes due to Azerbaijani aggression.
Mirzoyan attached special importance to the implementation of humanitarian missions by international organizations in Artsakh, including the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and said that the politicization of this issue by Azerbaijan and the creation of artificial obstacles is unacceptable.
