Candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan Declares a $24K Pension, Yerevan House
Former Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, running on the Armenian National Congress (HAK) for the post of prime minister, has declared US$2,010 in cash and a yearly income of 12.5 million AMD ($24,000), mostly from his pension.
Ter-Petrosyan owns a private home and an adjacent one-hectare plot of land in Yerevan.
Besides a 1997 Lincoln Town Car, the first Armenian president declared no personal belongings exceeding 8 million drams or its equivalent in foreign currency.
Aleppo-born Ter-Petrosyan served as Armenian president from 1991-1998. He ran again for president in 2008 and officially garnered 21.5% of the vote, coming in second to Serzh Sargsyan.
Ter-Petrosyan claimed the election was fraudulent and his supporters took to the streets of Yerevan demanding a new election.
The HAK won 7.1% of the vote in the 2012 parliamentary election, gaining seven seats in the legislature. The party lost those seats in following elections and hasn’t entered the legislature since.
