Armenian Delegation Members to Euronest Focus on POW Issue
Victor Yengibaryan, who head’s Armenia’s delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, told reporters today in Yerevan that delegation members focused on the Armenian POW issues last week’s online plenary session.
"There is a broad consensus among European partners on this issue, not only our delegates, but also a number of European parliamentarians, who said that Azerbaijan must fulfill its obligations. We also talked about the policy of anti-Armenianism in Azerbaijan," Yengibaryan said.
Delegation member Arman Yeghoyan said the Azerbaijanis tried to question the security of the Soviet nuclear power plants, referring to the Armenian nuclear power plant.
Their suggestion that the plants be shut down as a safety measure was rejected.
(The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, established in 2011, is the inter-parliamentary forum in which members of the European Parliament and the national parliaments of Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia participate and forge closer political and economic ties with the European Union.)
