Armenia's Parliamentary Opposition Expects Dissolution of Legislature Within Ten Days
Armenia’s parliamentary opposition believes a solution to the political crisis in the country, namely the resignation of PM Nikol Pashinyan and the holding of early elections, will be reached in the coming days.
Such an opinion was expressed by the secretary of the Prosperous Armenia faction in the parliament Arman Abovyan and the head of the Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan.
The two said the crisis is so profound that a quick solution is needed, and that snap parliamentary elections should be held in May.
Abovyan stressed that the struggle will continue until the current government leaves.
The Prosperous Armenia MP said that the process of dissolving the parliament should start in the next ten days, with elections in May.
He said the government had reluctantly concluded that without early parliamentary elections the situation will get worse.
"Nikol Pashinyan must resign and there will be snap elections," he concluded.
