Anti-Pashinyan Protesters Block Yerevan Streets
People demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to the streets of Yerevan today blocking streets and disrupting the subway system.
An alliance of political parties and organizations had given Pashinyan until today to voluntarily step down, promising to carry out acts of civil disobedience if he didn’t.
Protesters attempted to block traffic along several main roadways in downtown Yerevan. Police moved in, detaining some of the protesters.
Protest organizers say the actions will continue until 5pm today.
The opposition alliance has not said what further actions are planned.
