Summarizing today’s developments on the battlefield, Armenian Defense Minister Special Rep Artsrun Hovhannisyan said that Azerbaijani forces launched a series of offensive operations that continued throughout the day.

Hovhannisyan, at a news briefing in Yerevan this afternoon, said Armenian forces repulsed several Azerbaijani attempted advances, backed by artillery and drones, towards Berdzor (Lachin) and the southern border of Armenia.

The ministry rep said that fighting also took place along the northern Line of Contact and that Azerbaijan forces shelled several communities.

Hovhannisyan said that Armenian forces are now battling small Azerbaijani subversive groups in the forests and mountains, adding that some of these units have been neutralized.

He said that the Azerbaijan military had lost its huge quantitative and technical advantage due to the local terrain and the skills of the Armenian armed forces.
