All-Armenian Fund Promises 24-Hour Water to Stepanakert Residents
The residents of Stepanakert receive water for only two hours a day since not only the town's water supply system has a leak but has been in dire need of repair for years. Stepanakert's 140 km long water supply system was built back in 1950.
The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund is reconstructing the 10th and 11th zones (out of 13 zones) of the internal distribution network of Stepanakert. These zones include G.Parseghov, V.Mamikonyan, Baghramyan, Lazarev, Davit Bek, Kamo, Muratsan, Sasuntsi Davit, Azatamartikner, Iosifyan, Teryan, Babajanyan, Shinararneri, Shmavon, V.Saroyan and Mashtots streets of Step-Ges and Armenavan districts.
The reconstruction of the internal distribution network is sponsored with the money donated during the annual Telethon and allocated by the government of Artsakh.
The Fund reports that with the reconstruction of these segments, the residents of Stepanakert will have a 24-hour supply of water.
